De-Mystifying the World of Geospatial Certifications and Credentials
Wednesday, January 14, 2015 to Saturday, January 24, 2015
Category: Webinars

Certifications, Certified Learning, Credentialing, Licensure, and Accreditation all play a role in the geospatial educational arena, but their respective purposes, processes, and targeted audiences vary significantly.  In this webinar, we will explore how and why these topics connect with curriculum, institutions, and measured outcomes. The world of regulated education and training is changing rapidly, and these explanations will help both faculty and students understand their options, their opportunities, and their potential obligations.  Participants will have opportunities to learn about the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) and their Certification Program for GIS Professionals (GISP), the various geospatial Certifications offered by the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), the Collegiate Accreditation Program and future Professional Certification plans of the U. S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF), and Esri'Technical Certification Program.
