Data Visualization with QGIS
Friday, December 11, 2020, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM EDT
Category: Workshops

Description: This workshop will be an introduction to the wide range of data visualization and cartographic options now available in QGIS 3.x. QGIS has seen remarkable growth in this area in recent years. You will learn tools and techniques unique to QGIS such as: use of inverted polygon shapeburst fills, geometry generator symbol layers, expression based symbology, blending modes and live layer effects. We will also work with animating temporal data and mesh data. If you want to take your map creation skills to the next level - this is the perfect workshop for you!

Instructor: Kurt Menke, owner of Bird’s Eye View GIS, regularly applies his expertise with GIS technologies to ecological and social issues. He’s a world-recognized expert in open source GIS, with strong skills in spatial analysis, cartography, and web mapping. In 2015, Kurt was awarded the Global Educator of the Year Team Award by GeoForAll as part of the GeoAcademy team, and he’s authored and co-authored instructional texts including Discover QGIS 3.x, QGIS for Hydrological Applications, and Mastering Geospatial Development with QGIS 3.x.
