Lessons Learned from an Intro GIS Course using ArcGIS Pro
Wednesday, February 10, 2016
Category: Webinars

In the Fall semester of 2015, the University of Redlands began teaching its "Introduction to GIS and Spatial Analysis" courses using ArcGIS Pro as the primary platform. Our primary motivations were to 1) introduce this application to students who will see this application with increasingly prevalence in the workplace upon graduation and 2) to take advantage of the modern interface more familiar to today’s undergraduate student. It did, however, present some technical challenges as a new product with some bugs/issues and features still under development as well as a lack of teaching materials available for this platform.

In this webinar, we will describe those challenges, as well as benefits of integrating ArcGIS Pro into spatial instruction in higher education. A project-based approach for using ArcGIS Pro with students will also be outlined.

Presenters are staff from the Center for Spatial Studies at the University of Redlands.

This webinar is premium content and a link to its recording can be found by logged-in Members in the Community Forum section of our website.
