Symposium 2022 > Student Awards 

The University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS) is pleased to announce student awards for excellence in research during its 2022 Symposium.  We have invited short abstracts written by students of member institutions for presentation at the UCGIS Symposium. A panel of judges will evaluate student lightning talks and posters using multiple criteria including the robustness of the research and the effectiveness of its presentation. 

Abstracts selected for presentation will receive waivers for the symposium registration fee as well as dorm housing for the duration of the event.  Students must be affiliated with a UCGIS member institution. The program committee will assess the submission based on its quality, its innovation, and its fit within the UCGIS mission to advance GIScience research and education, and this year's Symposium theme "GIScience Forward: Meeting the Challenge".
